Why are my photos sideways?
When you take a photo with a smartphone, the phone saves the orientation data (EXIF data) inside the image instead of actually rotating the pixels. However, many older government websites ignore this EXIF data, causing your perfectly fine photo to appear sideways or upside down when uploaded.
